Double Concertina Wire Barrier Cobra

A perimeter security system may need to be installed at facilities requiring a very high level of protection. For such cases, the Cobra double concertina barrier is used. Today, the Cobra razor-cut barrier offers a more effective protection technology than similar Egoza concertina systems. The Cobra barrier is suitable for strategic facilities, nuclear power plants, large industrial sites, and other high-security locations.

Cobra is a structure based on Egoza razor wire, as in other types of concertina barriers. The Cobra barrier consists of two Egoza security coils sharing a common longitudinal axis but having different diameters. Both coils form cylindrical structures, with one placed inside the other. The system is mounted on vertical metal brackets. The concertina coils may be fixed on standard brackets or installed on independently rotating mechanisms.

Additional capabilities of the Cobra concertina barrier include connection to alarm systems; installation of extra Egoza razor wire lines; multi-row barrier configurations; integration of a drive for continuous rotation of the Cobra barrier; and the application of high voltage to the concertina coils. When high voltage is applied to the Egoza coils, brackets must be used that ensure electrical insulation of the razor wire from the ground and from other coils. The rotation mechanism itself provides additional protection, as it is extremely difficult for an intruder to overcome a rotating structure made of Egoza razor wire.

When considering the enhancement of the protective properties of the Cobra razor-cut barrier, it is important to take into account one factor. Feeding high voltage to the barrier, as well as forced rotation, may pose a risk to human life. Therefore, before implementing such modifications, the applicable laws must be studied carefully and followed precisely.

Assessing the quality and reliability of the Cobra barrier, it should be noted that this is one of the most advanced and innovative technologies in the field of perimeter engineering security. The area of application must correspond to the level of protection and effectiveness provided by the Cobra razor-cut barrier.
