The traditional form of barbed wire is being replaced worldwide by razor wire known as Egoza. The high performance characteristics of Egoza razor wire ensure its broad applicability – both as an independent perimeter protection tool and as a raw material for manufacturing more advanced modern engineering security systems.
The production technology and design of Egoza reinforced razor tape are as follows. A strong steel core – carbon steel wire – is tightly wrapped with a razor tape profile. The clamping of the Egoza tape is performed using a rolling method on specialized, fully automated, high-precision equipment. The optimal diameter of the steel core wire must be at least 2.5 mm. Using a smaller diameter wire reduces the strength of the protective structure and makes it more susceptible to overcoming by intruders. The final diameter of the finished Egoza razor tape, manufactured with a 2.5 mm steel core, is approximately 3.5 mm.
